Soprano Georgia left the bright lights of Featherston to pursue an operatic career in Germany - she made a living as a professional singer, racking up close to 60 performances alone as the Queen of the Night in Mozart's The Magic Flute! Now back in NZ she is a librettist, linguist and lecturer and she has launched a theatre company, Wanderlust Opera. Come and hear her at another fascinating "Longwood Life Lessons" Friends of Kokomai talk - this Saturday March 24th 4.30pm . Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
