Free Bowel Cancer Screening
In Mid Central, free bowel screening is available for Māori and Pacific people aged 50 – 74 and from 60 to 74 for everyone else.
Around your birthday, you will receive an invitation, followed by a bowel screening test kit.
The bowel screening test is quick and simple to do by yourself at home. Make sure you do the test as soon as possible and send it back.

Military Exercise – Makomako
The New Zealand Army will be carrying out a military exercise in the Tararua area from 09 – 14 May 24.
The exercise will be on Council land and will use the Woodville Ferry Reserve and Marima Domain.
Soldiers with weapons and military vehicles will be operating in these areas.
The general public is advised to exercise all caution when travelling in these areas and please follow the guidance of signage.
