Deceptive pricing. New World.
I know this goes on, but this was my first encounter for a while. Just a friendly reminder.
I am not a regular shopper for fruit and veggies; my daughter normally buys them.
My body felt like a meal with sprouts, so I searched for the best price. Eventually, I found this outlandish, almost too obvious, case of deceptive profiteering.
For me, there are three issues.
1) The loose sprouts are placed $7.99 kg above the other $5.99 on the bottom, which is bagged. Those on the bottom are also on the club special card.
2) At first sight, it looks as though the bagged sprouts are cheaper. A second look shows that the pre-packed only has 400gm, not 500gm which I was expecting, which makes it $14.98 or $17.48 without a club card.
3) The loose sprouts at $7.99 kg do not need a card, so the comparison for a non-card holder is $7.99 vs $17.48.
How is the average person supposed to work this out?. Plus this is only one item,
