Beggars at Hillmorton shops

In particular the woman, who is in a bad state. She walks/limps around the area but it appears to be getting harder for her. She used to wear shoes but not now. Her body and clothes are filthy and when I saw her close up yesterday, was quite shocked. Both the areas around her eyes were black, like when someone has a black eye but I suspect some medical issue. I think she lives at the flats at the back of the old Hoon Hay WMC but not sure. Anyway just wondering if her and others there, do get any help??

Are you a dog or puppy owner? SPCA are urgently calling on you to vaccinate them against parvovirus.

SPCA New Zealand say:
We’re seeing more and more cases of the highly contagious and potentially fatal canine parvovirus (parvo) around the country as we face a third outbreak in as many years. Parvo can remain on surfaces for up to a year, so dogs are at constant risk if they’re unvaccinated, or if their vaccinations lapse. Please ensure your dogs are protected against this heartbreaking illness, and book your vaccines and boosters as soon as possible. It could be the difference between life and death.
Read more about the current outbreak and the dangers of parvo on our website:

A general warning about cans.

Until some smart genius (probably to save 0.01 cents per can) decided to offset inwards the top sealing crimp. You try and save the juice when you have punctured the top lid, then have to invert the can to be able to open it. So the story is the cans MUST be opened from the BOTTOM lid otherwise all can openers will fail. Modern times ! I bet that the offset rim costs less than providing the pull seal showing up on a lot of cans now so the design is pointless. Unless same smart genius has shares in some can opener company ? It was a can of peaches from Woolworths.
