Microchipping Day this Sunday.

Bronwyn Reader from Cat Rescue Christchurch

We are having a Microchipping day on Sunday 14th July 11am till 3pm. To help us have an idea of what time people will be coming we are asking for you to let us know an estimated time frame of when you intend to come if you haven't already: email catrescue.chch@gmail.com.

The address - Please email for an address as it is at a volunteers private home in Aranui.

The prices of the microchipping are:

$30 for one cat
$25 per cat after that. (For multi cat discount all cats must have the same owner!)

Price includes the microchip and the registration to the NZCAR (NZ Companion Animal Register).

ALL cats must be in a proper cat carrier! We cannot have cats escaping on the day.

Payment is on the day in cash or EFTPOS is available.

We will be providing forms on the day for you to fill out your details so we can load your information and register the microchip with NZCAR. One section of the form asks for an alternative contact person who does not live in the same household, so please ensure you bring contact numbers. If you wish to print and fill out the form prior to the day and bring it with you then please see here. You do not have to print off the form as we will have forms printed for you to fill in on the day.

We are also offering discount flea (Revolution) and worm (Drontal) treatment for your cat on the day! This will be $5 per treatment (if your cat is 5kgs or under) so if you want both done it will be $10 per cat. $7 each for cats over 5kgs for both treatments $14 per cat. We have volunteers who will happily apply the flea treatment and worm your cat on the day. This service can only be provided for cats who come on the day - we are not able to provide flea treatment for people to take away with them.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
