Bring your family and friends to a day out in the Country in Tai Tapu. The Village Fair will be at the Tai Tapu Hotel Grounds [ 780 Old Tai Tapu Road, Tai Tapu ] 60 stalls with local food producers including coffee, food stalls, cheese, organic wine, kombucha, local crafts and artisan range, along with a special area for children with pony rides, petting zoo, miniature self drive tractors for the kids, hair braiding glitter tattoos, gorgeous hand made clothes for children and toddlers, for the adults wander around the stalls, grab some lunch while listening to live music. Try your luck with a chocolate wheel to raise funds for the community. See you there.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
