Oceania’s newest luxury village, The Bellevue, is beautifully set up for you to keep active, close to shops and the city centre.

Local resident, Kate Fraser, recently moved to The Bellevue and loves the convenience of apartment living.

“When I walked in the door, I knew immediately I was going to live here.” On a typical day you could start out with a barista-made coffee and a treat at the café, get in your steps at the gym, or join neighbours for a game of pool before moving to happy hour.

“The village has a feeling of a resort hotel. I thought — it reminds me of that hotel in Spain.” Kate added.

Call Brenda today on 0800 333 688 and stop by for a coffee and something delicious from the chef to get a taste for The Bellevue lifestyle.

We’re just down the road at 21 Windermere Road, Papanui, Christchurch.

New Zealand’s longest running photography studio, Standish and Preece, is showcasing a selection of its 75,000 images held in the museum’s collection that were captured from 1885 to 2020.

The photos, which include weddings, sport games, family portraits, school photos, kapa haka groups, graduation photos and more, represent the changing faces of Canterbury over more than a century at some of the most important events of their lives.

The museum put 32,000 of the collection’s images on its website during last year’s alert level four lockdown, asking the public to help identify many of the people and places photographed.

A further 43,000 images went live last week. Read more here.

"Being deaf is no barrier to learning and seeing someone like me achieving qualifications and working in a job that has a lot of responsibility has hopefully encouraged them to give it a go.”

When Erich Krogmann started the Food and Beverage Level 2 qualification, he had to learn how to balance study with a night job and a young family, but his main challenge came in the form of his hearing disability.

Erich says he thinks he’s inspired other people with a disability to take on training.

Hi neighbours, here's one to pull on the heart strings...

Teenage sweethearts who rekindled their romance after more than 50 years – and nearly 20,000 kilometres apart – are still waiting to reunite thanks to Covid-19.

Jock Anderson, 74, and Elizabeth Robertson, 73, were teenage sweethearts after attending Macandrew Intermediate School in Dunedin together in the 1960s.

The pair reignited their spark in 2019 after half a century apart when Anderson travelled to Scotland for a holiday and got in touch with Robertson, who moved there in 1972.

“As soon as I saw her, I knew the spark was still there,” Anderson said.

Their romantic story has been featured on The Times and BBC in the UK.

Qigong and Zhineng Qigong
Qigong is an ancient Chinese holistic therapy. It is the foundation to Tai Chi, but relatively simpler than Tai Chi.
Qigong includes dynamic and static forms.
Zhineng Qigong emphasises moving meditation rather than static meditation.
It uses the consciousness, body, breath, sound vibration and universal Qi(energy) to bring about positive transformation of the body, mind and spirit.

“After practicing Zhineng Qigong, my cancer disappeared. In the practice, I feel protected, joyful, safe and more energy. Healing comes naturally when we get out of the way and go beyond our attachments. Our new life is starting Now!”
~ Luise Kohl-Hajek, Germany

“The gentle movements stretch every muscle in my body although they look very simple. My muscles feel stronger, and I am mentally stronger too. While practicing, I feel the sense of “unity with the universe.””
~ Susan Sky, NZ

“Through regular qigong practice, my back pain is healed and my spine is more flexible. I had also been suffering severe shoulder pain for months. Just like a miracle, after one qigong class the pain had gone. The pain did come back a couple of days later, but much milder. After regular practice, I am pain free. This was a wow fact for me. I LOVE the feeling of connection to the Universal Qi, and would like to share qigong with others.”
~ Graham Good, NZ

Mum Brittany Beddoes says it was the "scariest thing" she had ever experienced.
