Road works to begin at busy Addington intersection
A busy Addington intersection is going to be dug-up over the coming weeks to replace a century-old stormwater pipe.
The intersection of Brougham St and Selwyn St will be disrupted whilst the pipe first laid in 1912 is replaced.
The work will start Monday, September 28.
About 185 metres of stormwater pipe needs to be replaced. Council's plan is to carry out the work in stages over the next four to five months.
Some of the road works may be carried out at night to minimise the impact on traffic.
This could mean temporary night-time lane closures on Brougham St.
Two lanes of traffic on will be maintained during the day on Brougham St.
Access to local businesses and community facilities will be maintained throughout the pipe replacement work, council says.
