The Whareora Community House Activity Programme offers many social opportunities - including bus trips; lunches; movie afternoons; and card, scrabble and craft groups. Call into the Whareora Opportunity Shop for a copy of our latest Newsletter for information. The Shop is open Monday to Saturday mornings, 10am-1pm. Look for the Blue House at 8 Athelstan Street, opposite Barrington Mall and close to the Medical Centre.

Pedestrian access from one of Christchurch’s favourite streets is being extended all the way to the Ōtakaro Avon River. This new 12m-wide pathway will give you a direct, easy route from the street to the river promenade ... perfect for a stroll, a coffee run, or just soaking up the riverside vibes.
