Poll: Will you check out the multi-million dollar global sailing event coming to Lyttelton, Christchurch?

Jake Kenny Reporter from Community News

Christchurch has beaten other New Zealand cities to host a major international sailing event showcasing the region to a global broadcast audience.

The New Zealand grand prix event will be held on Lyttelton Harbour next January as part of SailGP’s second season. The SailGP league involves teams racing identical hydrofoiling catamarans at speeds of up to 50 knots (100kmh).

Olympic and world champions Peter Burling and Blair Tuke will head New Zealand’s first entry in the event. Also competing will be Sir Ben Ainslie, skippering the British boat, and Australian Jimmy Spithill piloting for the United States.

Will you be watching?

Still seeking decent mature homest full time working Flatmate

Christine from Addington

I have been looking for a wee while now a decent mature honest working flatmate.
I have interviewed three people over a long time period and that is it, they turned out to be not suitable and straight off the bat dishonest.
I really am seeking someone who is mature and honest 100%+ for a apartment so close to everything, very central just down the road form BP station.

I require someone who is wiling to split the rent down the middle which is $225 per week for rent, then power and internet, plus extras required to keep this place clean and amenities.

If anyone knows of someone who is mature and honest in full time work then they can contact me on my email ... designedart@gmail.com ..
The room for rent is a double sunny room UN-furnished, YOUR bed base would need to be a slat base because soild bed bases will not go upstairs at all.
This home is warm and has a courtyard, one bathroom office between the bedrooms, Open plan living downstairs where the sun streams in, in the evening after work. Off street parking. and is very central to everything.
I DO NOT DESIRE AND UNEMPLOYED PERSON LIVING HERE WITH ME, YOU MUST BE IN FULL TIME WORK.

I desire someone who does not have a sense of entitlement but is grateful for being able to live in the landlord home and gets that just because you pay rent you need to respect that this is his property he worked hard for to own. I also require a person with the same respect for all my furniture. I wish to be able to go away in knowing that I will come home to my stuff still here.
I have had the flatmates from hell where I went away for a weekend and came back to this person gone and so was my spare bedroom suite, my 55" TV, my MTB, and a few other things. Yes it was reported to the police

I now have all my stuff micro chipped and have all my expensive stuff in storage for my protection.

If anyone knows of someone decent that i can trust 100%+ then please give them my email so i can contact them. Place in Subject in email Neighborly Flatmate so I can see and no to answer.

CONTACT ME NOW BECAUSE TH ROOM IS AVAILABLE NOW TO MOVE INTO.

To weed or not to weed ....?

Erina from Sydenham

Wow. This is what greeted me in my wee vege patch after a fortnight away on leave. My veges are thriving - all but one broccoli plant in amongst them all tho, so I thought to give them a bloody good soak before I tackled the "invaders" today. I wonder what they are?
Only thing I can think of is the mulch I threw over the patch last winter made up of oak leaves from the park across the road.......? Dig them back in or put to compost? What say you Discerners?
