UPDATED: House destroyed, six seriously hurt in 'massive' explosion at Christchurch house
UPDATED: Six people have been seriously injured, one house completely destroyed, and five others damaged in a gas explosion in suburban Christchurch.
Nearby houses have been evacuated after the explosion in Marble Court, Northwood, caused roof tiles and insulation to rain down across the neighbourhood about 10.20am on Friday.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand said the explosion came from the area's reticulated gas supply and caused multiple injuries.
