Building owners want input over cellphone tower location
Telecommunications company 2 Degrees is under fire over its communication about a proposed cellphone tower next to a Rolleston shopping centre.
"No-one really wants this sort of thing in their back yard, but we agreed to it in principle, as long as we had some input over where it would go," South Point co-owner Tania Croucher says.
The owners are unhappy with how the proposed 15-metre-high tower will look in front of their building and suggest it should be moved to the car park behind, where it won't be so obtrusive. They are yet to hear if that option will be considered.
