Should Selwyn consider a relocatable structure to create a covered sports ground at Rolleston's Foster Park?
The Selwyn district could have its own covered sports ground before Christchurch if a proposed plan proceeds.
Leeston landscape architect Geraint Howells, of Creative Intentions, told the Selwyn District Council's long term plan hearings last week that a new covered sports ground could be built at Rolleston's Foster Park using a low-cost, long-lasting and relocatable aluminium and canvas structure.
The council has proposed developing the park further from this year and a building a covered sports hub for the town in 2020-21. Howells' idea, using a structure from a company named Sprung, could take just weeks to build.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
