Cambridge sand quarry decision appealed
Work to construct a sand quarry on the outskirts of Cambridge has been delayed, and could be stopped, after the decision allowing it to go ahead has been appealed.
The man behind the appeal, Rhys Powell, wants the decision to allow RS Sand Ltd to extract up to 400,000 tonnes of sand from a 23-hectare site on Newcombe Road declined in full.
