Feel like a walk in the wilds of the Waitakere Ranges on Sunday, 21st April. Then come and join us at Whatipu. The walk will be doing the Gibbons Track to the Pararaha Camp site and return either back the same way or on the beach. If you are interested please ring the leader. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
