On behalf of myself and my family, we are seeking support from you all towards our petition to parliament to: Seek harsher penalties to drivers who cause bodily harm or death to pedestrians on our roads.
This has come to light due to one of our beloved family members who died due to them recieving severe injuries in which they died on the way to hospital back in July being hit by a car on Te atatu road, Henderson end (West Auckland). As we are all coming to terms about this, our campaign is to highlight to such services, outlets who manage our roads to have our roads more safer - towards installing CCTV, speed bumps, speed limit signage in and around that road, and more lighting. But to also educate all road users towards being mindful on those who use the roads both on the roads and on foot too.
Such services we have been intouch with have been Auckland's Mayor Phil Goff, Auckland Transport towards their proposal to our government in their May proposal for $700m for upgrade towards Aucklands 'safer action project' and sending our petition towards parliament and connecting with our current Minister of Transport; Mr Phil Twyford in our concerns, petition and campaign cause to parliament in possible changing the current NZ Traffic law regulations.
As no one should ever go through anyone that they dearly love to die on such unforeseen events this petition is to highlilght more emphasis towards our current traffic law regulations which is quite vague when it comes to giving justice for victims and their surviving families.
We will also be out in the community in the upcoming weeks and in 2019 in speaking with the public about our campaign and hope to see you all there in shedding light towards our cause as well as those who can't talk for themselves who are not here anymore.

Remuera Golf Club met with Mayor Phil Goff earlier this month to talk about its future, after comments he made during the election campaign about selling the site worth more than $700 million.
However, the Mayor says the course has taken steps to ensure that doesn't happen.
"They extended their lease with their local board out to 2091 - that constrains our options, I don't think that was an appropriate thing to do," he told Newshub Nation.
Desley Simpson was chair of the Orakei Local Board in 2016, when Remuera's lease was renewed.
"It was the tool I had to give them the longest possible lease so that it couldn't possibly be up for review and then potentially be turned into housing, which is something I am absolutely, vehemently opposed to," she told Newshub Nation.
The meeting comes during a time when there is significant debate over whether the city's 13 public courses are the best use of the space they occupy.
Of Auckland's 36 golf courses, 10 are owned by the council and three by the Government.
Collectively, these public courses cover more than 500 hectares of open space and are worth more than three billion dollars.
Half of the leases on these courses are currently up for renewal or will be over the next decade.
Economist Shamubeel Eaqub says at least some of the land needs to be repurposed to better address the needs of Aucklanders.
"With private golf courses, it's their land, it's their assets they can choose what they want to do with it. But for the Auckland Council to own lazy assets like golf courses does not make sense,
"When there are long lists of people who are waiting for houses, are under a lot of stress around rental properties - it simply means that they're failing to provide a basic need -which is shelter."
Auckland's population is expected to hit 2 million by 2030, and will be closing in on 2.5 million by 2050.
The council estimates a further 313,000 homes will eventually be needed to house that population.
However, golfing advocates argue that the sport and the spaces it provides are valuable to the community, the environment and the economy.
In times of high rainfall, golf courses can play an important role in diffusing stormwater runoff and some courses have high ecological value as wildlife corridors or habitats.
A 2015 report found there were 94,000 golfers in Auckland - 8.6 percent of the population.
"The fact is, golf is the most played sport in Auckland," NZ Golf CEO Dean Murphy told Newshub Nation.
Golf also contributes to Auckland’s GDP.
"Over 50 million just from Golf in this region, over a thousand people employed, so some quite tangible stuff."
Generation Zero housing advocate, Leorey Beckett, says while the situation is complicated, it’s important land use by golf courses is scrutinised.
"People who play golf have quite a lot of resources to protect their desire to play golf, but I do think there needs to be a hard look at whether this is the best use for all Aucklanders."
Ms Simpson organised a meeting earlier this month between the club and the Mayor and says she’s confident the area will remain a golf course.
Mr Goff, however, says he needs to balance the needs of the course with Auckland as a whole.
"It's a process we're not rushing into, but it will be a consultative process and it will be saying 'hey, we don't want to lose all of this public open space but maybe we could make it more accessible to more people for more purposes."

A few … View moreI have a little over 100 fully rooted young plants that I produced in the process of perfecting the skill of propagation. They were taken from mother plants that are between 2 and 5 years old.
In the images you can see they are in various stages of growth, but are all healthy and strong. A few even have flowers already. They were rooted in the first class seedmix soil, properly fertilised and kept well watered. The flowers in the pictures are the examples from mother plants.
I have a varied number of plants from the following varieties:
Pacquesa, Southern Temptation, Gillian Althea, Eusebia, Nancy Lou, Devonshire Dumpling, Bealings, Voodoo, La Campanella, Golden Anniversary, Rohee's New Millenium, Cath Weir (only one or two), Tom West (only one or two) and Princess Kaja (only one or two).
Fuchsias are beautiful and lush plants with exquisitely intricate flowers in various colors, and in this climate, they produce flowers throughout the year with a couple of short rest breaks. They like shade to semi-shade and will tolerate NZ (especially Auckland) winter unless they are left in the middle of the open lawn when it is really cold.
Provided you prune them well every winter (preferably late winter), they are able to come back year after year for a long time to make that spot of theirs full of colour and beauty.

Matt here. There has just been another phone scam that just happened at our house today (Saturday 17 November). There was a man (my mum got the phone, not me), claiming that he was from Spark saying that our own WIFI Broadband was getting hacked into. Apparently thank goodness my mum did not give the person any other details apart from this info. Her laptop is a school laptop and runs Mac software not Windows. Anyways, the person on the phone was saying that she needed to go to Teamviewer, (a typical scammers way for them to access your computer) and type in a password for them to access my mum's laptop (well her school's laptop). She didn't know that password, thank goodness for that.
Apparently the person is going to ring back here on Tuesday at 5.30pm at our house.
I had told my mum that this person claiming to be a Spark caller or technician is a scammer. Spark (previously Telecom) or any other company would not ring you saying that your WIFI broadband is getting hacked into or wanting to access your computer.
So she rung up Spark the local Auckland number to see if they had rung our house and to see if our WIFI broadband was getting hacked into or if it was another scammer.
She also looked at the Spark Website. She did read that Spark would not provide credit card or passwords

Phone Scams
There are many different types of phone scams. There are a range of strategies a scammer uses to trick the person, including number spoofing. This is where a scammer disguises the original caller ID with a number they choose. For example, a call may look like it's from a local NZ number but is actually coming from overseas.

Characteristics of a phone scam
It’s a cold call you weren’t expecting. The caller claims they've identified a problem in your modem or computer. Or that your WiFi has been hacked or is running slow due to a recent Fibre install or virus. They offer to help by taking control of your computer through Team Viewer.
Note: Spark does not call customers unexpectedly to say they have a virus on their computer or modem
If the person is suspicious, they often provide a New Zealand number for the person to call back on. This number belongs to the scammers and they answer the call "Hello, Spark help desk".
The scammer claims to be from Spark’s help desk and offer their Spark staff number to prove they are an employee. They even offer to give you details of their manager to call.
They may know your full name, address and birthday. They can find this information through research online or buy it on the black market. You shouldn't assume they're legitimate for knowing these details.
The scammers call from an international call centre with a large number of staff. Scam calls are often very noisy in the background.
This is a so called scam like those Microsoft scammers who call you to want to fix your computer and bank scammers as well. Mind you our house has not had any of these but I personally get a lot of the "phishing" emails on my other email. "Phishing" email are just basically emails for example if any of you get these, this is just for example:
Subject: ASB Bank
Were waiting for you bank account to be activated. Please the link below to this. Obviously you click the link in the email.
I don't a link, but giving this one just as an example of what you people might get in any of your emails.
If you do click on a link that the so called email does provide, it will just end up taking you to the real bank website whatever bank you are with.
If any of you do receive any bank emails like this just delete these.
I hope that whoever reads this will get more understanding with scammers.
