Auckland – it’s hard to imagine a more geographically diverse region. Whether it’s rugged black-sand surf beaches, dense native forest, rolling green pastures or urban city centres, there’s something different to see and do.

Luckily it didn't last for long - thank goodness not like a couple of weeks ago when they had a party and had a major fireworks display. So scary - no communication, not a note, nothing to say this was going to happen. I am so thankful that my horses were in paddock behind my house and couldn't see anything, but the noise was horrendous. Other neighbours were out checking their animals and one lost 4 young heifers that ran through the fence as they were so frightened. How can people be so callous and uncaring. Why live in a rural area, surrounded by paddocks with horses, cows etc when they don't give a dam what happens to them or the stress their selfishness causes their owners. The attached is a picture of one of my horses that was injured by getting his leg caught in a wire fence. This happened prior to Guy Fawkes day but this is what horses do when they get a fright and if they get caught in anything they don't stand and wait to be helped, they just rip their legs free and the consequence is major damage. Any worse and he would have had to be put down. $2500 later in vets bills he is on the mend but I have been terrified that he will injure himself again thanks to these inconsiderate, uncaring, entitled people. Far worse has happened to other peoples animals due being terrified by fireworks. I am certainly not against people's enjoyment, but Fireworks should be banned for personal use due to the harm and injuries they cause so if you agree with me please go to www.change.org... and sign the petition to "Ban the Private sale of fireworks in NZ". This petition has been stared in 2018 and 25000 signatures needed for it to go to government. Spread the word and help us stressed to the max owners and our animals. Thanks heaps. Annie.

Now every month she does a "cheap week" that helps cut costs and minimise food wastage. To read about Stacey and her food tips, click here.
"This month we've done it twice to save some extra for Christmas," she says.
