Kia ora neighbours, it’s the team from EcoMatters. On Saturday 16 March, EcoWest Festival is kicking off with Cycle-Powered Cinema at the Avondale Shops, and you’re all invited!
From 6-9pm, enjoy food trucks, entertainment, art and bike-powered screenings of short films. BYO mug for a free hot chocolate. More details on Facebook.
It’ll just be the start of a month-long festival celebrating our stunning environment, and with more than 120 events in six event categories, we’re sure you’ll find something up your alley.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
