Auckland GPs will now vaccinate 12-month-old babies for measles, mumps, rubella in an attempt to protect the "most vulnerable" from the outbreak gripping the region.

There have been 104 measles cases in Auckland so far this year.

From this week, Auckland Regional Public Health Service and Ministry of Health are recommending all 12-month-old children in the region receive their first MMR early to protect them from the highly infectious viral illness.

A support group will be established with Kalandra as the neucleus. Ongoing support meetings will continue and ideas and circumstances shared. Our knowledgeable staff will be on hand to answer any concerns or questions.
