What are your thoughts on people hunting and gathering in urban areas?
Hi neighbours. Since we ran 'Grisly discovery at creek' in our July 3 paper, we have had emails and phone calls from Browns Bay residents advising us people have been attempting, and sadly successfully catching, some of Taiaotea Creek's eels. This is despite eeling not being allowed in Auckland Council's parks or reserves. Have you come across people catching eels in your local stream? Do you think signage should be erected warning people eeling is not allowed? What are your thoughts on people foraging in urban areas? Put NFP in your post if it is not for publication.
Poll: 🗑️ Would you be keen to switch to a fortnightly rubbish collection, or do you prefer things as they are?
Aucklanders, our weekly rubbish collections are staying after councillors voted to scrap a proposed trial of fortnightly pick-ups.
We want to hear from you: would you be keen to switch to a fortnightly rubbish collection, or do you prefer things as they are?
Keen for the details? Read up about the scrapped collection trial here.
