Can you help Torbay's Ash Binns with her canned food collection for the City Mission?
Hi neighbours. We were really heartened by Torbay teenager Ash Binns initiative to deliver 1000 cans of food to the Auckland City Mission this weekend after the Mission sent out an urgent call-out for canned goods. The Mission's canned food stocks are almost exhausted after distributing more than 3000 emergency food parcels since January, containing more than 49,000 cans of food. Have you noticed poverty getting worse on the Shore? Has anyone been forced to sleep in their cars in your area? Have you ever had to call on the Auckland City Mission? Put NFP in your post if it is not for publication.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
