Poll: Do you think the two-way Trans-Tasman bubble should be opened up now?

Caryn Wilkinson Reporter from Community News

The Government has announced its first major border exemption- 2000 horticultural workers can arrive in the new year.

The 2000 horticultural workers from the Pacific will be allowed to enter New Zealand in 2021 under strict conditions, in the first significant opening of the border to foreign workers since the Covid-19 pandemic struck.

Meanwhile, the one-way Trans-Tasman bubble started in October, permitting travellers from New Zealand to arrive in NSW and the Northern Territory without then having to go into managed isolation.

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
