History of Robert's road shops
Hi all. I’ve recently created a Facebook page called Tales of Te Atatu (www.facebook.com...) that has stories and a bit of history on Te Atatu South (you can like that Facebook page if you would like to stay up to date with the latest stories I publish there).
Today on the page I am hoping to uncover any great stories or old photos about the Robert’s road block of shops. The block of shops has been around since the late 1960’s. It has been the location of the famed second to last DVD/ video stores in the country and known to have both Billy T James and Jono and Ben do some filming there (Worth watching their clip on You Tube for Hubert and Sonny from Westside Bakehouse www.youtube.com...).
Attached is a brief history of the stores that have been there. There is also a nice little story on the Oldham chemist that was there for 40 years as one of the original stores. If anyone can fill in any gaps about the history on some of the stores or old photos that would be great. Are there any characters from their history? Does anyone remember what the first 5 stores were?

I dance in the sky with green and gold, a spectacle few are lucky to behold; I’m best seen in the south, a celestial sight—what am I, lighting up the New Zealand night?
