This great cookbook of harvest recipes (many of which were mined from our archives) was so much fun to put together. It's free with our September issue, and we'd like to thank our friends at Webstar for making it possible. It helped make our anniversary issue feel so special.
Please join us at the Pre-Diwali Expo held at Vodafone Events Centre, Manukau on 29th September.

A dad is a person who is loving and kind,
And often he knows what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens, suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs, but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient and helpful and strong
In all that you do, a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him deep in your heart.
And each year that passes, you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!

With spring approaching it is nearly time for bees to start swarming. A swarm is nothing to be afraid of and is quite spectacular if you happen to see them during the process. If anything the bees tend to be less defensive of a swarm than they are of an established hive. If you happen to come across a swarm on your property and want it removed please feel free to contact me directly on 0272944402 or alternatively there is a list of ‘Swarm catchers’ available from www.kiwimana.co.nz.... Please do not call an exterminator! Swarms can typically be removed easily or will move on by themselves once they find a suitable home.
Thanking you
