This is so disgusting ... πŸ’©πŸ’©

Fiona from Henderson

For crying out loud Auckland Council, SORT YOUR S**T OUT!!!
When it appears to be more red flags of 'Long Term Effect' hazard alerts than the so called "Safe areas' around Auckland's coastlines, especially out West, then one has to wonder what the heck is the Auckland Council actually doing.
There are nearly 40 high-risk places that exceed national guidelines for swimming.
safeswim.org.nz...
How on earth can an area that is surrounded by tidal waters continually be contaminated by all sorts of human and animal waste flowing into the sea?
There is even a black alert that means there is a very high risk of illness from swimming for North Shore's Castor Bay.
Any area with a green (so called safe area) that sits between any red flags, sure as heck should be a huge concern to all those people swimming or God forbid, catching fish there.
It's damn well safer to swim down at Mangere where the sewage treatment plant is for crying out loud!
With Auckland having one of the highest rates nationwide, with the least amount to show for the rates they are grabbing from left right & centre, who will step in and make them accountable or even audit them?
Who will actually give a damn about our safety and health?

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days β€” the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
