Auckland Zoo is currently closed because of Covid-19 alert level 4, but once it reopens, the lions will be ready and waiting to see visitors.
Will you be booking in a visit to the zoo to see these new lions once restrictions ease?

Heart of the City chief executive Viv Beck is calling on the government to consider ‘Covid Loans’.
“We’re keen to see innovative ideas to support businesses and not load the country up with more debt than necessary,” she said.
“Many people have told us they have not had good access to capital and ‘Covid Loans’ could be a solution that could be implemented using existing arrangements.”
’Covid Loans’ would allow businesses to access funding with much more manageable repayment options, similar to student loans,
Do you support ‘Covid Loans’ for businesses impacted by the lockdown?

As we've been walking/driving around our neighbourhood there are a number of citrus ( oranges, lemons & grapefruit) laden trees shedding all over the ground. This of course occurs every year but we're mainly home at the moment. How about if you have a tree , especially the oranges, you could pick and either bag them "free fruit help yourself" outside your front fence or maybe contact a local food bank to drop them off at their base. Perhaps if your neighbour has a tree you could ask if you could carefully pick and bag them etc for those who would welcome them. As we know some people are doing it hard and it just seems a terrible shame to watch the fruit rot on the ground.
Stay safe

Is anyone in Royal Oak area by the big roundabout missing their orange/white cat? My husband saw her lying by the road....if you are her owner, she lies on the pathway between the driveways of 844 and 842 Manukau Road 😥😥 really sorry for your loss.

Here's the latest from Don who's been in isolation for 14 days,
We welcome you back Don....
Hi Everyone,
Please share this message and my newsletter with your members and contacts
I hope you are all managing to keep safe and healthy during these stressing and difficult times.
During the last few weeks I have managed to get myself Isolated for fourteen days due to being a close contact from the Dress Smart place of interest on the 16th of last month, that was fun. NOT! However I have been back on the beat working with my Onehunga Policing team attending Covid19 related incidents reported to police.
Unfortunately, those involved in criminal activity are continuing as predicted, so please continue to be vigilant and look out for anything of concern. The 111 emergency phone number is the best number to call to notify police of all emergencies including all Covid related concerns.
Also, an update on mail theft.
Police have recently identified individuals involved in high volume mail theft from the Ellerslie and Onehunga areas. Further information will follow once the investigation has concluded.
Keep safe and be vigilant
Kind regards
Don
