Finding the treasure hidden in Tradescantia
We love finding the treasures that hide in Tradescantia until their release, especially native ferns like this "Shaking brake" (Pteris tremula). The fern sporeling shown below is one of hundreds of native seedlings and sporelings that germinated under the low loose ground cover provided by Tradescantia, and was released not by us, but by the owner, who recognised the potential of a weedy area under native tree canopy.
