Hoyts Customer service

Dale from Sunnynook

I joined Hoyts rewards last November and paid $13 which gave me a free movie ticket.  For various reasons I have not been to the  cinema for  a while and several weeks ago realised I have not received emails from Hoyts in months.  When I checked my membership  - no free ticket.  Hoyts customer services reply was - 'Unfortunately the free ticket is set with a 6 months expiry.  There is a 1 month grace period which has also expired.  They suggested I check my spam folder for the emails.   After several emails back and forwards they told me I had been unsubscribed from emails.  When I asked for a contact I got 'You can get in contact with our customer service team directly on 0508 446987 if you wish, however they won't be able to re-apply your ticket retroactively as it has expired.'

Considering Hoyts are the only cinema to charge to join the rewards, and their tickets for seniors are $14 where others are $9 I would have thought they would want to keep customers.   Membership lasts a year, why does the free ticket last 6 months?   Am I way of base even thinking they should re-instate my free ticket (that I paid for) - what price for customer loyalty?  Disappointingly I cannot seem to get further than the ticket has expired.
Still waiting to get emails - even though I have marked the email address in my spam folder as accept.
