Henderson Animal Shelter Open Day
19 Jan 2019 - 20 Jan 2019
This event is to open our shelter to members of the public to come and see what we do, how we do it and find out who we are.
Anyone wanting to adopt a dog will be able to have a meet and greet with our dogs who are looking for a new home and to talk with shelter staff.
Animal Management Officers will be available to talk with customers regarding any Dog Control questions or issues they may have.
We will also be hosting various dog rescue groups including ARAN Rescue, Rottweiler Rescue, Chained Dog Rehabilitation and Rehoming and German Shepherd Rescue.
There will a visit from Auckland's Mayor Phil Goff on Saturday at 11 am, a colouring-in competition for kids and a sausage sizzle.
Along with this, we will also be having dog safety talks provided by Bark NZ and there will a trick demonstration by NZ's Trick Champion "Legend".
Animal Evac will be attending as well to chat with the public about what to do in an emergency regarding their pets.
