That's ok - I only wanted the top part! STILL holds a decent amount of water) and beside it is the MUCH smaller, very tiny shallow concrete one (sadly, it doesn't hold much water - not more than about a cupful I should think =P ) the landlord gave me, as he reversed over the old one (which was an old planter with Blu Tack in the hole in the bottom to stop the water leaking out). I told him NOT to reverse over this new one, as I had to go ALL the way to Bunnings Glenfield to get it, as they were the only ones that had it! All the other birdbaths were $70 or more each. =P Anyway, hopefully this pale smaller one the landlord gave me, and the much brighter orange colour of the terracotta one I just bought, will make them MORE visible so that he does not reverse over them again.....sigh. =P IN the meantime, the birds are enjoying their new terracotta birdbath very much, and the first one to try it out was a mynah. =D ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! =D

Gum disease (periodontitis) can be associated with an increased risk of developing heart disease.A review of several published studies finds that gum disease is, by itself, a risk factor for coronary artery disease.
Poor dental health may increase the risk of a bacterial infection in the blood stream, which may affect the heart valves. Oral health may be particularly important if you have artificial heart valves.Tooth loss patterns are connected to coronary artery disease. There is a connection between diabetes and cardiovascular disease and evidence that people with diabetes benefit from periodontal treatment.
Good Oral health is also beneficial for the digestive system.

Hi Neighbours, The V8 supercars race costs Auckland ratepayers $1.2m and is the city's most-publicly-sponsored major event. So how did it suddenly end up shifting from its Pukekohe home to Waikato's Hampton Downs? Read the story below:

I found this article far more informative and rational than any other article about 'self care' during this over the top scaremongering about coronavirus.
I totally understand why people are panicking and in so many cases, going completely overboard, but it's like all forms of rational thinking has gone out the door.
The excellent Q & A within this article with David Powell, a physician and medical adviser to the International Air Transport Association is not only rational but reassuring and accurate.
The question where he is asked, " Does wearing masks and gloves help prevent infections?" makes perfect sense and is exactly what I have been trying to tell a few people.
Basic biology classes will tell you just this.
Just be sensible, keep excellent hand hygiene and if you cough or sneeze in public, it's important to cover your face with a sleeve. Better yet, a tissue to be disposed of carefully, and then sanitising the hands afterward.
