Western Springs Community Planting Day

Dee Sims from Waitematā Local Board

SUNDAY 18 JULY 2021, 9:30AM - 12:30PM

Please join us for a community day, planting native trees in the forest at Western Springs Lakeside Te Waiōrea.

We'll start at 9.30am, rain or shine. Bring some closed-toe shoes, weather-protective clothing, a bottle of drinking water, and a spade and gloves if you have them.

Protect our parks from kauri dieback: Bring only clean footwear and equipment with you.

Meet us on the north side of the lake beside the weir (about 40 meters west of the public toilets).

Your hard work will help to grow this urban ngāhere (forest), creating new habitat for native birds and other wildlife in the park.

After the planting, stay and get to know others from the community and join us for some free kai!

If you would like to help out, please RSVP with the Community Liaison Team by emailing westernsprings@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz or clc@kotahiprojects.com or calling 0272678818
