Joy will cover everything you need to know to become a safe, reliable and fun child minder that every parent will trust and want to book again. There will be plenty of practical advice about how to establish your business, ideas for creating a great first impression, and how to handle safety issues in someone else’s home. The workshop will also cover useful information about children and their developmental needs, ideas for play, and how to communicate well with parents.
Sarah will deliver a concise first aid course specifically designed for child minders, covering child safety and accident prevention, life-saving techniques and emergency first aid.
For 13-17 year olds. Places limited. Tickets $25 (normally $50, thanks to a subsidy through Upper Harbour Local Board).
