Pātaka Kai (food pantry)
Kia ora Neighbors hope we are all well?
Just wanting to share a little kindness to you all. As Xmas is just around the corner and for some whanau (family) can be a little stressful. A new pantry had an opening late this arvo. The two whanau Cassia Nelson and Missy Hemara-Herbert are actually neighbors and have made this a joint venture. We joined both whanau to awhi (support) the kaupapa (principle) for their opening. Manaaki (support, hospitality) is the name, the blessing, sausages and onions on the bbq, waiata (songs) been sung and other neighbors coming to koha (gift) the first jars of home made jam. Amazing to be part of their special day. Take what you need and koha what you can. 15 and 13 Larsen Rd Panmure. Any questions please message.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
