U3A Ormiston next meeting

Our next meeting is at 10am on Thursday June 24th at the Flat Bush Old School Hall, corner Murphy's Rd and Flat Bush School Road. Our main speaker will be Kate Senner on her humorous subject "The Torment of Poor Design" while our member Gordon Lawrence will speak on the Orkney and Shetland Islands. Choraiya bhaji (or Chowrai Bhaji, Chore Bhaji) is a nutritious, leafy green vegetable from the amaranth family, popular in Caribbean, Fijian, and Indian cuisines, often prepared by sautéing with onions, garlic, peppers, and sometimes tomatoes or eggplant, mashed into a soft, flavourful side dish served with roti or rice. It's known for being rich in vitamins (A, C, K) and minerals (iron, calcium) and is also called callaloo or red spinach in different regions.
