Battery recycling points
So I have a bunch of dead batteries that's been laying around for years as I don't know where to take them. I did some searching and found the nearest place is Mt. Wellington at Upcycle. I was thinking it would be quite un-green to drive out there whenever I have a couple dead batteries. Wondering if it would be good to have a neighborhood collection point, though I am not sure how it would work and the laws as it could be dangerous goods? People can drop them off near by and when it fills up someone can take the load to the recycling place.
Any suggestions or thoughts?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
