Police disappointed by high number of drink drivers in Auckland
Police say they are disappointed by the high number of drink drivers they have nabbed around Auckland.
Officers handed out 1100 infringement notices and arrested 78 drivers this month.
They carried out more than 70 checkpoints and breath tested nearly 14,000 people.
Police are planning more checkpoints over summer.
They have warned drivers to plan ahead and to avoid driving impaired.
