Hi neighbours,

The live action remake of the children’s classic Mulan will premier at 7.30pm on Friday on the streaming service Disney+.

The film was pulled from Disney’s cinema release schedule due to the ongoing impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fans will have to pay $39.99 to gain “premium access” to view it, on top of the regular Disney+ subscription of $9.99/month. After several months the film will be available for free for all Disney+ subscribers.

The $440 million blockbuster was mostly filmed in New Zealand, and critics have praised the scenery.

Will you be watching the premier of Disney’s Mulan tonight from home?

A vaccine will be available 'soon' and will be effective just like all the others. The economy will recover. Life will return to normal. There are far more good people than bad in the world. Let's accept the challenges, fix inequality, reduce pollution and waste, educate and teach our children manners, and look after our environment. There's a great sense of achievement to enjoy.
But only when we all pull the rope in the same direction.

No one knows everything but trying to learn is not always easy. Many times I have tried to fill in many gaps and come up with no answers.
WHY
1. Do we sell our car parks to a foreign company who then export millions of our dollars in profits and fines?
2. Why do we give water away and allow the associated plastic bottles to pollute the land?
3. Why have we fed a greedy foreign corporate with such cheap electricity for nearly 50? years?? Then hoard their poisonous waste.
4. Why do we put money into stop smoking tobacco schemes but are on the verge of allowing a far worse mind bending chemical free reign?
5. Why are Pitt bulls (and their likes) allowed to breed when they tear children's faces apart and statistically top the dangerous list by a large margin? (Yes they do!!)
6. How on earth can a criminal the likes of which we have never seen before earn the privilege of TV, medical care, food and lodging, to the tune of nearly $5000 a DAY? (five thousand $$$$ a DAY). As well as that he'll probably vote next month?
7. How on earth can CEOs be considered worth more than between 20 and 50 qualified nurses. Inequality is crippling New Zealand. Not long ago a Fontera boss claimed eight million a year!!! It's obscene.

I could go on but that's enough for starters.
It seems to me the world's financial system is literally stuffed and greed has overtaken all decency. We are awash with money but distribution is pathetic and grossly mismanaged.

Hi neighbours,

Are you looking for a new pantry staple? A Canterbury restaurateur has launched his own te reo Māori-branded tomato sauce after boycotting another for “bastardising” the language.

Fush owner Anton Matthews has teamed up with Barkers to produce Kīnaki Tomato after removing Watties from his Christchurch restaurant because the company poked fun at Māori place names in an advertising campaign.

Matthews, who has become well-known for championing the country’s indigenous language, is proud to have te reo Māori on sauces displayed on his tables.

When he went in search of a new sauce to accompany his kaimoana (fish) and chips in January, they picked a sauce they loved, and asked the Geraldine-based condiment producer if it could collaborate on a label.

“I’m really stoked that they’ve taken a chance on us.”
