I’ve been creating a map for NZ with all the little free libraries, so far I have around a lot so far but know especially in the North Island there are many many more. Nationwide they can be found in everything from fridges to bus stops and little library cupboards. Please send a picture and short description of your library or ones you have seen. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
