COST FOR INTERIORS

david Baker from

I believe the cost for building is far to expensive. Big corporations (we know who) make basic materials very expensive.

Bakers-Builds just did a ceiling renovation and we broke down the costs.

For a standard Gib fix / plaster / paint it is very expensive. 3 seperate trades adding 3 lots of % on for labour and materials.

By the time you get the finished product your budget is all add on % for project management and materials.

We just completed a MDF V groove ceiling in Queenstown and the cost for the finish look really made me think.

Standard gib finish
(SQM - Square Meter)

- labour to install gib $15 sqm
- Plaster to gib $11 sqm
- Paint finish. $40 sqm

Total = $66 SQM

A standard sheet of plasterboard
2.4m x 1.2m = 2.88.
$66 x 2.88 = $190.08.

V groove 9mm ceiling cost
$19 x 2.88 = $54.72

Big difference in cost and visual affect also.

Think carefully for you next interior finished product.🔨🔨
