Freedom Camping at Margaret Griffen Park
Kia ora koutou,
Please find attached information on who to call if there are specific issues with the Freedom Camping pilot at Margaret Griffen Park. The pilot finishes shortly, to give feedback please email freedomcamping@aucklandcouncil.govt.nz or you can call the bylaws number on the attachment if you want to talk to someone by phone.
If the pilot (which is happening across the region) evaluation shows that a by-law that allows freedom camping and gives rules for it to happen is worth while then there will be an extensive public process around setting those, consultation, submissions and so on.
Hope this is helpful,
Cheers
Julie

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
