City centre celebrates CHINESE Lunar New Year, with a Pan-Asian flair
We’re joining millions of others round the world to celebrate Lunar New Year between 10 and 25 February 2024. This Pan-Asian tradition will take on a modern edge in Auckland with street parties, pride festivities, panel discussions, restaurant specials, and a karaoke competition!
When the first new moon appears in our skies in 2024, the Lunar New Year will descend on Auckland’s city centre streets, squares and spaces carrying with it the rich colours, sounds, tastes, traditions and beats of Asia.
Auckland Council invites you to celebrate with our Asian communities and businesses who make up a growing part of the cultural fabric and economy of our region.
