Spectacular, stunning, stupendous!!!
Our Citizens Advice Bureau fundraiser to Gibbs Farm enabled us, after transport and food expenses, to raise $2800.
We donated $1000 to the Angel Fund which helps people in our Helensville district in a variety of ways from paying school expenses to petrol money.
The rest will go towards our 23 amazing volunteers through a Kaipara cruise this month as a thank you for their sacrifice of time, energy and skills.
A huge thanks goes to our wonderful sponsors Love Flowers, McLeod Motors, Countdown and Helensville Fishery.
We also appreciate the generosity of Gibbs Farm for allowing us to fundraise and we had an amazing time hosting our two buses and cars of visitors.
We gave everyone a memorable lunch when a volunteer brought a car load fresh watermelon and cooked corn-on-the cob to add to our rolls and refreshments! We even shared the ample supply with the public who joined us under the marquee.
The farm, nestled along the Kaipara Harbour, features New Zealand largest open-air park of outdoor sculptures- and is topped off with exotic and interesting animals.
Not just a walk in the park, it’s a good workout around the 1000 acre property. Just imagine mowing that lawn!
Yet again, we acknowledge the amazing Gibbs Farm for such a national treasure!
