Renting
I recently vacated a rental property on Cyclarama Crescent owned by a Chinese lady. When we broke our fixed term agreement by mutual agreement she decided to enlist a property management agency called Dependable Property Management form Hillcrest North Shore.
This man from the agency was a complete nutter he did not communicate with the owner about our agreement and he came to meet me with a 21day notice agreement already signed by him so all I had to do was sign it and I did.
2 days later after signing 21day notice to vacate he tried to cancel this notice period by trying to fool me and telling me that because he made a mistake I had an ethical duty to stay at the property until he found new tenants.
I have moved out now and we did a final inspection last Monday 21/08 after leaving the previous Friday. Everything went smooth with the final inspection as he was pleased with how we cleaned the 5bedroom spotless and even mowed lawns and did the gardens without any hired help.
Now DPM wants to dispute our bond in court because apparently we left the house in a unclean manner and left rubbish at the property.
The nice new family there has a son with allergies and they forced them to move in earlier than there original agreement and they had to re-clean the house to suit their needs. That does not fall on me!!
My post is to encourage all Renters to not give up. Take your landlords to the tenancy tribunal if you have to. They let them win.
Agencies will try everything to get you to pay for something that you do not need to.
Suspicious Guy
Keep an eye on this guy, pretended to read the water meter, then wandered up the drive crowbar in hand when I asked what he wanted he said power and is there a dog.We have smart meters. He opened my neighbours gate (we are 3 units) and went in the back of her place with his crowbar. My son went round there and he took off. Police informed.
