Thirteen young athletes from Pakuranga Athletic Club are competing in the Trans-Tasman Challenge Cup in Sydney next month. Of the 93 athletes in the North Island team, Pakuranga has the largest club representation.
A well-known statue of Marilyn Monroe has been returned to her favourite display spot in East Auckland.
The six-foot tall statue of the late American actress and sex symbol was handed back to her owners after being stolen from an East Auckland residence in October.

Maternity support workers and midwives across East and South Auckland are calling on more women to embrace the act of natural birth. Despite almost 90 per cent of Kiwi women choosing to give birth in a hospital, only 12 per cent of them take place within Primary Birthing Units.

Look out for your neighbours this holiday season. Be mindful that Christmas can be a tough time for some older people, especially those who live alone. Small gestures of kindness can make this time much easier for older people who may be lonely.
