Free Playgroup for Migrant and former refugee families
Kia Ora! The Safari Playgroups are free for families, they provide a fun learning environment where families can play and learn together. Mums can make new friends while their children gain independence and social skills, helping prepare them for pre-school education and school. During the playgroup the mothers can attend beginner English language classes. We also work with other service providers to run sessions to support the mother’s parenting skills and knowledge of community services.

Choraiya bhaji (or Chowrai Bhaji, Chore Bhaji) is a nutritious, leafy green vegetable from the amaranth family, popular in Caribbean, Fijian, and Indian cuisines, often prepared by sautéing with onions, garlic, peppers, and sometimes tomatoes or eggplant, mashed into a soft, flavourful side dish served with roti or rice. It's known for being rich in vitamins (A, C, K) and minerals (iron, calcium) and is also called callaloo or red spinach in different regions.
