Duck rescue “The lakes” oak way drive
The ducks in “The Lakes” oak way dr have become infected with botulism, a bacteria that eventually kills them if they are not rescued when they fall ill. Sylvia, the bird lady in northcross will take Any that are unwell but we need people to keep a look out and rescue any that are sick, also let the council know if there are any dead birds so they can be removed. It also doesn’t help when people feed the ducks bread as this contributes to their poor health and growth of the bacteria. This was in the nz herald and news recently as well. Anyone who can help out please let me know as we are moving in a week and won’t be able to keep checking. Other ponds and lakes in Auckland also need helpers desperately.

Auckland Harbour Bridge summer works
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is carrying out essential maintenance on the Auckland Harbour Bridge this December and January. The southbound clip-on lanes will be closed (24/7) from 26 December to 5 January for road resurfacing. Night-time lane restrictions will be in place throughout the summer for recoating work on the bridge. Traffic will still be able to travel in both directions at all times.
