what do you NEED - (& what do you want)
there may be other version of this elsewhere - but right here, right now
what do you NEED:
I have:
3 children's soft toys that need a home
some soft toddlers playing block
some children's library books
some of my books for children (big book of bedtime stories)
4 sets of shoes for little people (*was* going to say little girls - but know lots of adults (and some young people) with non-binary gender/identity
lots of books for adults - already lent some to my neighbour on one side - neighbour on other side doesn't need/want at the moment - all good
DVDs - not many - happy to share
what else?? went to Countdown Lincoln Road last night - no queue - everything re-stocked - LOTS of safety measures - not only "normal'"
better than 'normal ' people being nice, lovely, loving, kind, thoughtful caring and compassionate to each other - kiwis being kiwis
kiwis being kiwis - helping each out in time of need
simply who WE ARE, right? agreed?
kiwi people, culture, society - COMMUNITY - FAMILY - WHANAU
"STAY SAFE"
new words - we have ALL been SAYING to each other -
"stay safe" - spreading like an infection - oh this virus is weak -
"STAY SAFE"
LOVE - AROHA -
PEOPLE - COMMUNITY - WHANAU
KIA KAHA - WHO WE ARE - KIWI
WORDS - ARE STRONG - POWERFUL - IDENTIFY WHO WE ARE
WORDS - KIWI WORDS
not just LOVE - AROHA
not just family - WHANAU
KIA KAHA - WHO WE ARE - KIWI
SEEDS -
oh promised someone a plant - finally found that info last night -
oh some of you met me - "crazy" woman with green hair (st Patricks day) and pink hat (early xmas present from lovely flatmate) at the Warehouse on Lincoln Road on... Wednesday -
got plenty TONS of swan plant seeds for butterflies - will grow some for the community (well need to check with experts on *when*) - if someone wants some of these swan plant seedsjust let me know - happy to drop off in your letterbox (weak weak virus experts say - soap & water kills it)
oh so gardening advice - happy to give - post here, or messsage me, would be doing that right now, but lovely lovely LOVELY rain instead (good for the garden - good for everyone - esp people on tank water)
just done this 'local' immediate Henderson area - if can't find a home for these things I don't need - will post wider :)
STAY SAFE - everyone
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
