Waitākere Ranges rat numbers double, destroying kōkako chicks
Hi neighbours, kōkako nests in the Waitākere Ranges have been hit hard by rats after rodent populations in the area nearly doubled, meaning all of the kōkako chicks and eggs in three nests inside Forest & Bird's Ark in the Park have been destroyed by predators. Waitākere Forest & Bird branch chairperson Annalily van den Broeke said those living in the area could help save the birds by putting out traps on their property.
Would you be willing to set traps to help give these birds a fighting chance?

Suspicious Guy
Keep an eye on this guy, pretended to read the water meter, then wandered up the drive crowbar in hand when I asked what he wanted he said power and is there a dog.We have smart meters. He opened my neighbours gate (we are 3 units) and went in the back of her place with his crowbar. My son went round there and he took off. Police informed.
