The roses are starting to bloom and you know what that means.... the PARNELL FESTIVAL OF ROSES is coming soon!

All are welcome and all should come along to this great annual event. Already into its 24th year, this festival is always great fun.
This year highlights include The Bug Wrangler, food stalls, Allana Goldsmith on stage, bubbles, circus acts and so much more

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
