Auckland family beats developers and investors to secure “dream home”

Ripu Bhatia Reporter from Auckland Stuff

An Auckland family has sparred off against investors and developers and won to secure a Remuera home.

The property at 1 Benson Road sold on auction for $2,751,000, which is close to $300,000 above its reserve price,

174 bids were made in just under an hour, and sellers are “thrilled”.

Bayleys real estate agent Lorraine Young said the home had attracted “huge interest” from a variety of buyers.

“There was great enquiry from developers, investors and families, all seeing the add-value potential of a great site, location and ability to do-up or develop,” she said.

“The property is also positioned in Double Grammar Zone – making it highly desirable for families with school-aged children,” she adds.

What are your thoughts on the current Auckland housing market?

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
